Visas and Documents
CEL has been authorized the Department of Homeland Security to issue the I-20, also called the F-1 Student Visa, to students who are coming to the USA to study full time--that is, 18 or more hours a week. If you plan to study full time, please request the visa and then CEL will inform you about what you must do to get it. Our staff will advise you on other documents that you may need to enter.
However, if the main purpose of your visit is not full-time English studies, you may enter on a tourist visa or a student visa waiver. You can also contact you local US embassy for more information regarding visas and how to prepare to enter.
One more important notice, all students are advised to buy medical insurance before arriving. On your first day of registration, all students must bring their passport, I20 (if needed), and proof of medical insurance.
